Our academic curriculum is the backbone of ETAPA SigmaCamp. Covering a range of disciplines like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science, the program consists of morning lectures, afternoon semi-labs, and evening workshops. Students also have the opportunity to participate as junior instructors or lead experiments.

Beyond academics, ETAPA SigmaCamp offers a variety of recreational activities including soccer, volleyball, table tennis, and chess. We also offer creative activities like painting and music sessions. Evening clubs offer an array of options from science trivia to poetry readings.

Our faculty comprises experts in Mathematics and the Sciences, primarily affiliated with top-tier Brazilian and American research institutions and universities. Campers may come from various regions across Brazil. Upon arrival, each camper joins a team led by two or three counselors. Teams engage in collaborative learning and compete in the SigmaTournament, fostering an environment of camaraderie and intellectual growth.

Students will stay in Valinhos Plaza Hotel, a modern, 10-year-old building, designed for comfortable living and learning. Valinhos Plaza Hotel boasts a selection of rooms — four of which are specially adapted for individuals with special needs — and five bungalows. The hotel offers an excellent infrastructure for both accommodation and events, conveniently situated a few meters from the Colégio Etapa facility. Learning activities such as lectures and minicourses (semi-labs) will be conducted in various designated areas throughout the ETAPA Center. The spacious campus allows for outdoor experiments and recreational activities, featuring sports courts, nature trails, and communal spaces for social interaction.

Our on-site kitchen provides a variety of meal options tailored to individual preferences, including vegetarian and gluten-free choices. Our staff is prepared to accommodate any dietary restrictions or allergies.

The cost of the program is BRL 9.167 for a 7-day, 6-night stay. We offer discounts for siblings and have a range of need-based financial aid options available upon request. Applications are now open for ETAPA SigmaCamp Brazil 2025. The application deadline is October 15, 2024. The results of the selection process will be announced on October 20, 2024. Once approved, participants must complete payment of the registration fee by November 20, 2024.

SigmaCamp Brazil 2024 will be held from January 11th to 18th, 2025, at Colégio Etapa Valinhos, with accommodation at Plaza Hotel Valinhos.

During the event, students will have the opportunity to interact with renowned researchers from the best institutes and universities in Brazil and the United States, such as Stony Brook University, Brookhaven National Lab, Stanford, Harvard, MIT, USP, IMPA, as well as professionals of great prominence in the field of Technology.

There are 100 spots available for students aged 14 to 16. The program is open to students interested in Science, with high academic performance and a good command of the English language.

To register for Etapa SigmaCamp Brasil, you must fill out the application form, take the application test, send your resume, an essay stating your personal motivations, and recommendation letters, as well as complete the English proficiency test.

After you conclude the first step of your application, we will contact you via email to send you the test, which must be completed by October 2nd. After completion, your performance will be evaluated and disclosed by October 15th. Depending on your performance, a discount will be granted on the registration fee, which must be paid by November 20th, 2024
